Dental Bonding
What is Dental Bonding?
Bonding is a type of cosmetic procedure that helps to cover flaws and imperfections at the front of your smile. Bonding uses composite resin material that is matched perfectly to your existing teeth. This creates a seamless and flawless finish to the procedure, ensuring a full, confident smile. Bonding can be done to cover gaps and spaces as well as areas of a tooth that have chipped or broken.
Why is Dental Bonding needed?
Dental bonding can be useful for improving the appearance of your smile. It works to smooth areas that are otherwise jagged or sharp. Some of the different flaws that can be covered with bonding include:
- Gaps and spaces between teeth
- Chipped or broken teeth
- Discoloration and staining
"I really like this dentistry! It's good because they are very precise with scheduling and are also very precise with tooth operations. I recently got a crown and the operation was very fast and simple. I am totally satisfied with every mouth operation I have gotten from Foothill Dental! I highly recommend them!"

Who is a candidate for Dental Bonding?
The procedure is performed easily in our office at your own convenience. We can perform an examination to determine if you’ll need or benefit from bonding. Bonding is ideal for most healthy adult teeth. If your tooth is decayed or has other problems, we’ll often recommend other treatments prior to having the procedure done.
What happens during the procedure for Dental Bonding?
To begin the bonding procedure, we apply a gel to the area. The gel is then washed away before the composite resin material is placed. We match this material perfectly to your existing smile so that it doesn’t look unsightly or out of place. The composite resin is smoothed over the tooth and detailed to mimic the look of your natural tooth. Once this is done, we’ll harden the material with a bright light several times. This prevents the bonding material from shifting out of place or falling away. Most bonding can easily last for about 10 years or longer before it can easily be replaced. Bonding can transform your smile and cause you to feel more confident in your appearance.
