What Is Invisalign

What is Invisalign?

Orthodontic treatment can help in straightening crooked, crowded and unevenly spaced teeth. If you want to avoid the bulk of metal braces, we often recommend Invisalign. Invisalign is a system of clear aligners that work to straighten and perfect the look of your natural teeth. These trays are virtually invisible to the naked eye and are beneficial to patients of all ages.

Why is Invisalign needed?

It’s incredibly common for natural teeth to be crooked and crowded. If you are ready to transform your smile, we recommend Invisalign trays to improve the look of your teeth. When your teeth are straighter and more aligned, they’re healthier and easier to keep clean. Invisalign should be worn for about 22 hours every day in order for treatment to be effective.

"I’ve came here since I was younger when the office used to be located near the pavilions 9 years ago. The office has treated me really great and have taken good care of me. Awesome staff and great workers!"

Who is a candidate for Invisalign?

Invisalign is useful for older teens and adults needing orthodontic treatment. The trays are removable and need to be taken out to eat and brush your teeth. Because of this, they may not be the best option for younger kids and teens who might forget to replace the Invisalign trays after eating. We can examine your teeth to determine if you might benefit from Invisalign and if this specific treatment is right for you.

What happens during treatment of Invisalign?

We begin with a consultation that involves impressions, x-rays and an examination. We then work to take impressions, or molds, of your teeth that are used to make brand new Invisalign trays. You will need to wear these trays for no less than 22 hours each day in order for the treatment to work effectively. You will need to come into the office once every few weeks so that we can make new Invisalign trays for you. Treatment can range from a few months to several years depending on how severely misaligned and crowded your teeth currently are right now.
